What is Permanent Makeup?

Permanent Makeup is a natural iron-oxide pigment that is carefully applied to the uppermost layer of the skin to create the desired effect.

How is the procedure done?

A topical anesthetic is applied to the area. Then using equipment designed for the application of permanent makeup, small amounts of pigment will be applied to the area. Most procedures take between one and two hours.

Will the procedure hurt?

There may be some discomfort. The topical anesthetics we use will reduce the sensation you feel.

Will I have an allergic reaction?

Not likely, however, as a precaution, we always perform a patch test prior to any procedure.

How long is the recovery time?

The recovery is just about immediate. Most clients return to their normal activities within a few hours. You will be given post-procedure instructions to take home and, of course, you can call with any questions.

Can my permanent makeup fade?

The procedure is permanent - it won't wash off. However, over time the colors will soften. Your exposure to ultraviolet light (sun, tanning booths), salt water and chlorine (swimming pools, beach), exfolients (scrubs, retinols, dermabrasion, alpha-hydroxys), as well as your chemical and genetic makeup will determine how much fading will occur.

Will I need touchups?

It is impossible to predict in advance when you need a touchup, however, most clients come in once a year to refresh the color in order to keep it looking as good as new.
